A Beautiful Soul

I am always seeing and reading things that inspire me. Especially as I get older and see the young and beautiful walk around. Growing up I never felt beautiful. In fact, if the truth, be known I always felt ugly. I was never taught that as a female, I was created in the image of the most beautiful entity around. I was created in the image of God. And he is beautiful.

I wanted to say to all the women out there, each of you are beautiful. You are beautiful in a way that can never be taken from you. You were created in the image of God and he is beautiful. You are created with his essence, his goodness, his beauty. You were created with his compassion, his grace, and his forgiveness. You were created with a strength that outshines anyone else’s. You were created with a love that goes beyond anything physical. You were created with an inner wisdom that only comes with age and life’s experiences.

I know from habit we get up, look in the mirror and we see the face staring back at us and maybe sometimes it even appears to scare us. Look past that, look at the eyes and the soul that shines through. Look at the beauty that shines from within.

Even as youth and outward beauty fade, the wrinkles creep in, the hair takes on its own life form and the body sags, we are beautiful. We are God’s children. We are created in his image; we are created with his beauty. Let it shine, wear it proudly, revel in it, embrace it. Own it. He gave it to us, and it makes us unique.

Remember a beautiful face will change and a perfect body will age, but a beautiful soul will always be a beautiful soul. And that beauty will never fade, never wrinkle, never sag and never age. It only gets more beautiful.

Proverbs 31

1 The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his mother taught him:

2  What are you doing, my son?1 What are you doing, fson of my womb? What are you doing, gson of my vows?

3  Do hnot give your strength to women, your ways to those iwho destroy kings.

4  jIt is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings kto drink wine, or for rulers to take lstrong drink,

5  lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and mpervert the rights of all the afflicted.

6  Give strong drink to the one who nis perishing, and wine to othose in bitter distress;2

7  plet them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.

8  qOpen your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.3

9  Open your mouth, rjudge righteously, sdefend the rights of tthe poor and needy.

10  4 uAn excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than vjewels.

11  The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

12  She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

13  She wseeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

14  She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.

15  She xrises while it is yet night and yprovides food for her household and portions for her maidens.

16  She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

17  She zdresses herself5 with strength and makes her arms strong.

18  She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

19  She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

20  She aopens her hand to bthe poor and reaches out her hands to bthe needy.

21  She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in cscarlet.6

22  She makes dbed coverings for herself; her clothing is efine linen and fpurple.

23  Her husband is known in gthe gates when he sits among the elders of the land.

24  She  makes hlinen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.

25  iStrength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come

.26  She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

27  She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28  Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

29  “Many jwomen have done kexcellently, but you surpass them all.”

30  lCharm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

31  Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

Galatians 3:26-29

26 For you are all children[a] of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.[b] 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile,[c] slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children[d] of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.

1 Peter 3:3-4

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
