Midnight Publishing

a place where indie authors are published and cherished

Caira Benson

I have a Master’s in Historic Preservation and have been an archivist, art historian, exhibit writer, adjunct professor, and researcher for non-fiction works. I gave this up to become a caregiver to my husband after being injured while deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am a strong advocate for veteran and caregiver issues with a national platform, and I have written and given Congressional testimony multiple times. I currently work in the non-profit space helping better lives for our nation’s veterans at Code of Support Foundation. I found some of my sanity writing, and I completed an MFA in 2022. Since then, I have co-authored an international training for health care providers, written more grants than I care to count, and had roles as a professional technical writer, editor, and proposal writer. I also have a series of published articles with HigherEd Military and HigherEd Jobs.
