Dr. Darlene Williams, Cofounder, & Clinical Program Director of Equusolutions, Inc, is a clinical psychologist who has worked with individuals, couples, families, & groups since 1986. She focuses on trauma, grief, loss, and couples’ issues, & has treated individuals across the lifespan. Utilizing a holistic, & transpersonal approach, and incorporating nature for clients so inclined, led Dr Williams to a certification in equine-assisted interventions, whereupon she cofounded Equusolutions, Inc in 2008: (now a FL 501(c)(3)) utilizing rescue horses to treat trauma survivors, creating sustainability for not only primary trauma survivors (equines, & humans!) but their caregivers (friends, family, partners, therapists), and the nonprofit barns housing the equines as well. In 2006, she cofounded Sunsong Retreats, customized weekend healing nature retreats and CE workshops for individuals, couples,families, and agency/corporate groups. She was a co-sponsor of APA CE workshops for PTSD & MST, utilizing holistic methods & equine modalities in 2009 & 2013. As a volunteer clinician for GiveanHour.org since its inception, Dr Williams co-founded Horse Corps, a free monthly therapy group for military women utilizing equine assisted-psychotherapy to treat PTSD/MST in 2009. Dr Williams is the author of journal articles, a book chapter on an innovative treatment program she developed, & dissertation award recipient. Dr Williams has been interviewed in print, broadcast & internet radio, and on YouTube. She is passionate about sharing her love of, & connection to nature and its infinite healing capacity to any and all interested! As a result, Dr Williams loves to speak, & write, and has authored poems, short stories, & short plays.

My name is Karen Lee and I’m the illustrator for the Emily Rose book series. My journey in art and imagination started at an early age and was inspired by my Sicilian grandmother who was an artist in her own right. I began with drawings of cartoon characters such as Snoopy and Garfield and soon budded into formal training in pastels, oils and acrylics where I sold my work at arts and craft fairs. My main medium now is acrylics and is inspired by nature in the beautiful state I reside in, Colorado.
