Submission Requirements for Midnight Publishing

As we continue to grow, we are going to have to continue to assure that our writers know how to submit a manuscript. We have very few requirements, but they are a must.

1. Please send a completed manuscript. Do not send individual chapters. It is to hard to copy and paste, things get lost that way. If the manuscript is too long to send in a regular email there is dropbox which you can use. Do not send them in the body of the emai.
2. if you are sending photos do not send them in the body of the email. They must be in a file, if the file is to big create a zip file.
3. Yes, I understand you want your book to be pretty, however, we require that you use Times New Roman and 12pt font. The reason is the cost factor in publishing your book. We want it to be reasonable.
4. Do not number your pages. The reason is we have to format that book and many times we have to take out the numbers to make the format work. We also have to add a copywrite page
5. If you are doing a children’s book again please do not number the pages, and if you do not have graphics we will do them for you. If you do have graphics do not put them in the book, number the graphics to go with the correct page and we will put them in. The reason we have to make the graphics fit the page.
6. We need a table of contents for the audible and kindle version. Please add it to your completed manuscript. We will take it out for the paperback and hardback.
7. 7. The hardback cannot be printed if it is less the 79 pages. That is not something we can change that is an Amazon rule.
8. Please send your completed manuscript in a word doc. Again do not send separate chapters. We will have to kick it back.
9. In order to keep the cost of printing your book reasonable for you as an author and for the public we will not print your photos in color, we will print in color for children’s books.
10. We understand that this is your baby, however, we also understand the market. If you have a cover design in mind, let us know, also know this we will ask you if you are married to it and if you want to stand out or blend in. Here at Midnight Publishing we want each author to Stand out, not blend in.
