First ARC review: 5/5 stars
“It’s a day of heavy caffeination and adrenalin…”
Salt Covered Lies is a suspense-filled journey through past and present that kept me turning pages far too late into the night. The story masterfully bridges then and now, twisting at just the right pace to keep the tension high without feeling rushed.
The female main character is grappling with her own demons as the story unfolds. That emotional undercurrent gives the novel real depth. Her internal struggles feel authentic and relatable, grounding the intrigue in something fiercely human.
There’s a great energy throughout with fast cars, sharp banter, and more than a few cups of excellent coffee. The dialogue flows, the pacing is tight, and the descriptive style of the author continually adds dimension to the story and characters.

Second ARC Review:
A Gripping WWII Mystery with Heart and Depth
Salt Covered Lies pulls you in from the very first pages and keeps you fully invested until the end. The author masterfully weaves a compelling story rooted in World War II history with complex, modern-day characters working to unravel a mystery decades in the making. Alongside the suspense of the mystery, the protagonist goes through a beautiful personal journey of healing and vulnerability which gives this book a lot of heart.
This does not read like a debut novel. It feels like the second or third installment in a beloved series. It is confident, layered, and deeply immersive. Although it’s under 400 pages, the book delivers rich backstories and meaningful character development often found only in much longer works. At the same time, the author leaves enough room for growth if this becomes a series. I will be the first one in line for the pre-order and impatiently waiting until then.
I laughed, I cried, and I was genuinely on the edge of my seat. I finished this book quickly because I simply couldn’t put it down.
If you enjoy authors like Kate Quinn, love historical thrillers with strong emotional arcs, or modern day thrillers this is a must-read.
