Requirements for Book Submissions

As we continue to grow, it’s important that our writers know how to submit a manuscript. We have very few requirements, but they are requirements, not suggestions.

1. Please send a completed manuscript. Do not send individual chapters. If the manuscript is too long to send in a regular email, ask us for options but do not send them in the body of the email. Email to midnight_publishing@yahoo.com
2. If you are sending photos, do not send them in the body of the email. They must be in a file, if the file is too big, create a zip file or use one of the apps mentioned in #1.
3. We require that you use Times New Roman and 12pt font. This will keep your book reasonably priced.
4. Do not number your pages. The final book may not have the same numbers for many reasons. We must add a copywrite page and sometimes, other pages, so your page numbers will not hold true.
5. If you are doing a children’s book, please do not number the pages. If you are providing your own graphics do not put them in the book, number the graphics to go with the correct line or page and we will put them in to make the graphics fit the page. If you do not have graphics, we will do them for you.
6. Provide a table of contents for the audible and kindle version. Please add it to your completed manuscript. We will take it out for the paperback and hardback. This does not apply to illustrated children’s books, but will apply to chapter books for all ages.
7. The hardback cannot be printed if it is less the 79 pages. That is not something we can change that is an Amazon rule.
8. Please send your completed manuscript in a word doc. If you send separate chapters, we will have to kick it back. Email to midnight_publishing@yahoo.com

In order to keep the cost of printing your book reasonable for you as an author and for the public we will not print your photos in color, we will print in color for children’s books and certain coffee-table books.

We understand that this is your baby, however, we also understand the market. If you have a cover design in mind, let us know, also know this we will ask you if you are married to it and if you want to stand out or blend in.
